Made from Genuine Mahogany this Plaque features a very dense wood originating from South America. This Mahogany has Deep Red coloration and a tight grain pattern. It is also very dense and you are able to feel the heavier weight compared to less expensive African Mahogany.
Other less expensive mahogany plaques use African mahogany. African Mahogany is lighter with a more open-grain pattern, it's more orange in color, and tends to be easier to splinter when under stress.
This plaque is machined and sanded down to perfection, then given a clear satin spray coat to enhance the rich south American mahogany coloration, as well as give the surface a scratch-resistant coating.
The back features 2 keyhole slots to make the final mounted position as sturdy as possible, in either the vertical or horizontal position. There is a Mounting template that is included, So no need to worry about getting the exact placment marked the first time.
